Tells the story of the Crucifixion from the point of view of a visitor to Jerusalem, unfamiliar with the background to what is taking place before her eyes
This piece was written by Rhonda for voice and piano about 7 years ago. Over the past year I have worked with Rhonda to orchestrate and arrange it, in time for Easter this year 2010.
Who is He? Who is He? What has He done? So much blood, it drips on the roadway from off His back!
Why the thorns? Come women tell me, what has He done?
See! That's Mary, His mother, As a virgin she bore Him, Straight from the Father by Holy Spirit of God.
Holy, sinless, loving, God's own Son.
He healed those sick ones, raised the dead to life again,
and set those free from demons. He loved them - this He's done.
Then why the cross? The thorns, the nails. See now!! They nail Him on the cross.
What does it say - that parchment? " Jesus of Nazareth - the King of the Jews".
He's their Messiah! Then what have they done?
But wait! He speaks, quiet now! Listen! Surely He'll curse them after what they've done.
"Father forgive them, they know not what they do."
This darkness, it grips me, so evil, it's tangible, Oohh Where's the sun?
Now an earthquake!! What has been done?
"Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.
He's died, He's gone.... but wait! They've speared His heart!!
